Written to be read, not to protect us. If anything here is unclear, ask and we'll explain it properly.
Kindred Paws is operated by Donal O'HAonghuse, trading as a sole trader in Ireland, at Mosstown, Co. Meath. These terms are an agreement between you and Kindred Paws whenever you buy the wishes booklet, buy a memorial page, or use a memorial page someone else has made.

A personalised PDF keepsake, generated with your pet's name and yours on the cover the moment payment completes, and made available to download immediately from the confirmation page. There's no account, no login, and nothing further to set up — the file is yours once it downloads.
A one-time payment that unlocks the page builder for one pet's page. It covers the page itself — building it, publishing it, keeping it live, moderating its guestbook — for as long as Kindred Paws is operating. There's no renewal fee and no separate charge for editing it later.
Neither product is a subscription. Nothing is billed again after the initial payment, and nothing lapses if you don't come back to it.
Payment is taken by Stripe at the time of purchase. We never see or store your card details. Prices are shown in euro and include any VAT that applies.
Buying the wishes booklet requires the pet's name and your name, collected on Stripe's own checkout page, so they can be printed on the cover. Buying a memorial page requires only payment and an email address — everything else about the page is entered afterwards, in the builder.
If you're buying as a consumer in the EU, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel an online purchase and receive a full refund, without giving a reason.
Both of our products, though, are the kind of purchase the law treats differently: the wishes booklet is digital content delivered immediately, and a memorial page is a service that begins as soon as you start using the builder. In both cases, the law allows that 14-day right to be lost once delivery or performance genuinely begins — but only if we've first asked for, and you've given, your explicit consent to start immediately and your acknowledgment that you're giving up the cancellation right by doing so. That consent has to be collected at the point of purchase, not buried in a page like this one.
Beyond the statutory right above, if something we sold you didn't work as described — the booklet failed to generate correctly, or a memorial page was broken in a way we couldn't fix promptly — email us and we'll put it right or refund you. We'd rather sort out a genuine problem than hide behind a policy.
We don't offer refunds simply for a change of mind once a booklet has downloaded or a memorial page has been built and published, beyond what the law above requires.
You're responsible for the photos, names, dates, and story you put on a memorial page, and for any message left in a guestbook. By submitting any of it, you confirm you have the right to share it — a photo you took, a story you're entitled to tell — and you agree not to upload anything that infringes someone else's copyright, is illegal, or is intended to harass, defame, or harm another person.
You keep ownership of what you write and upload. Using Kindred Paws to publish it just means you're giving us permission to host it, store it, and display it back to visitors of that page — nothing more, and nothing that continues after your page or account is deleted.
We can remove content, or take a page down, if it clearly breaches this section or the law. We won't do that over a difference of opinion about a private grief, and we won't do it without trying to reach you first unless the content is genuinely harmful.
A memorial page's guestbook contains messages other people chose to write. The page owner decides whether messages need approval before they appear (moderation can be turned off, in which case messages appear right away). Either way, anyone who wrote a message can ask us to remove it directly — see the privacy notice — without needing the page owner's permission.
There's no password. Getting back into a memorial page you've paid for works through a single-use link sent to the email address you used at checkout. If you lose access to that email address, we can't transfer access to a different one on your say-so alone — email us and we'll work through verifying it's genuinely you.
You can delete a memorial page at any time from the manage screen. Deletion happens in two stages: the page is hidden immediately and kept recoverable for 30 days, after which it — and everything on it — is permanently removed and cannot be recovered. You can also choose to skip straight to permanent removal if you're certain.
We aim to keep Kindred Paws available at all times but don't promise uninterrupted access — like any site, it can go down for maintenance or reasons outside our control. If Kindred Paws ever ceases operating, see the privacy notice for our policy on keeping published pages reachable afterwards.
Everything about the site itself — its design, the wishes booklet template, the code that runs it — belongs to Kindred Paws or its licensors. Buying a booklet or a memorial page gives you the finished, personalised result; it doesn't give you rights to the underlying template or software.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud — Irish law doesn't allow that to be limited, and we wouldn't want to anyway.
Beyond that, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. We provide the service as it is; we don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for every purpose someone might put it to.
These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and any dispute that can't be resolved directly is subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you may also have the right to bring a claim in your own country's courts.
If we change anything meaningful here, we'll update the date below. Changes won't apply retroactively to a page you've already bought and built.
